  1. Just Living the Life in BK

    September 10, 2010 by justgathering

It’s been a busy week around here, but don’t worry. I’m still making time for the things that matter.

I will never sacrifice my morning oatmeal, no  matter how early I have to rise to make and eat it. Priorities, people.

This morning’s oats include strawberries, peanut butter, cinnamon (the spice without which I cannot live), and peanut butter. They taste like a PB & J.

There are a ton of Brooklyn happenings on my radar this weekend. On Friday, I’m going to The Brooklyn Indie Party at Greenlight Bookstore. This is one of the bookend events for the Brooklyn Book Festival, which I’m also going to try to hit up as much as possible on Saturday and Sunday. I’m super pumped to see Paul Auster in conversation with John Ashbery. Score.

The other local event on Sunday that has me geeking out is the Farm City Fair, a celebration of Brooklyn agriculture, art, and food.

Oh, and also at the top of my to do list this weekend: baking bread. I’ve got a bread experiment stewing in my brain, so fingers crossed that it’s a hit.

I’ll be back on Sunday with a recap and photos of the weekend and (hopefully) photos of perfectly baked bread. Til then!
